As ever I’m always keen on promoting VMware in my home area of the North East. Even though I live pretty much as far away as its possible to be in the UK from my beloved Sunderland I still like to keep my finger on the pulse.

The North East is about to get its first VMUG on December 6th at Ramside Hall Hotel & Golf Club (just outside of Sunderland).

While this is not up there with the mini VMworld agenda of the last UKVMUG it gives the opportunity to guys in the field of virtualisation to come and ask question of VMware employees and get technical updates.

The networking opportunities are always great at these events so if you are in the North East then you should try and get to this event.

There’s also a Twitter account to follow: @NorthEastVMUG

I doubt Ill be able to get up there and attend myself but ill be up soon so keep an eye out for a vBeers event.

Just a reminder that the London VMUG is on the 10th of February and will be covering the usual high quality subject matter that we come to expect from the London VMUG (Twitter Hash #LonvMUG).

I’m looking forward specifically to ‘Cheap Disaster Recovery using PowerShell scripts (Gabrie van Zanten’ as Gabe couldn’t make it the last time round. Also ‘Transatlantic Datacentre migration (Chris Dearden,’ will be a great topic. Although it would I can imagine a few squeaky bums in chairs being so close to usual pub time.

Check out the agenda bellow and if you would like to attend try emailing [email protected] and if there are free spaces then you should be able to attend.

After the event we normally attend the pub for vBeers. If you have not been to vBeers before this is a fantastic opportunity to have a drink with some of the ‘celebrities’ of the Virtualisation world and have a free and frank conversation that normally you would never be able to do.

This is not the normal vBeers event that is held in London on the first Thursday of the month but you would like to attend those as well please feel free. All the details are on Kiwi Si’s web page.
